Barry Swirsky has been General Counsel of Wind River Holdings® since July 2001. He is in charge of the legal affairs of Wind River Holdings and its affiliates. Mr. Swirsky’s responsibilities include negotiating M&A and other transactions and contracts, overseeing corporate compliance and legal risk management, and managing outside counsel.
Prior to joining Wind River Holdings, from 1995 to 2001, Mr. Swirsky served as General Counsel to Nobel Learning Communities, Inc., a growing NASDAQ National Market company, where he was a senior executive responsible for all legal affairs of Nobel and its subsidiaries. Mr. Swirsky’s responsibilities included the handling of acquisitions, joint ventures, debt and equity financings, build-to-suit leases, securities laws compliance, and litigation management.
For fourteen years, prior to joining Nobel, Mr. Swirsky was engaged in private business law practice, primarily with major law firms in New York City and Philadelphia. At Dechert of Philadelphia (1984-1992), Mr. Swirsky handled complex acquisition and public and private financing transactions for major institutional and corporate clients.
Mr. Swirsky received his B.A. degree magna cum laude from Brown University in 1978 and his J.D. degree cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1981. Married with two children, he enjoys spending time with family, skiing, tennis and biking.
